Ookla, a web service that provides free analysis of Internet access performance metrics such as connection data rate and latency, claimed in its Speed Test Analysis, that Kano has a median upload speed of 8.62Mbps with latency of 46ms.
According to Ookla, Speedtest Global Index rankings are based on median download speed to best reflect the speeds a user is likely to achieve in a market.
With the global standard put at 18.92Mbps for median download speed, upload speed is 8.58Mbps and 31ms as median latency.
The American firm ranked Lagos as second with median mobile download speed of 18.03Mbps, 8.31Mbps median upload speed and 28ms; Ibadan is third with 17.6Mbps download speed, 9.37 upload speed and 29ms median latency.
